I too have Cigna/CareCentrix/Apria....
knock on wood.... so far I havent had issues but I've only been at this for almost two months.... I got my bill from CareCentrix for my cost of everything and out of all my equipment I owe think it is $108.... not to bad... I've met my deductible this year so.... met it long ago after having two surgeries... lol
I hope things continue to go smoothly.... my RT said they do an email reminder, but I have not seen one yet and I called to get replacement pillows... lady had a tiny bit of attitude, but it didn't ruffly my feathers too bad... got my new pillows in a matter of 2 days.
Got a call from my CIGNA and Carecentrix today!

I know this is an older post, but I am amazed that you received sich a call.
I've got CIGNA too ( for the last 20 years) and been in CPAP Therapy for 5 1/2 years and have NEVER received such a call.
I'm jealous !
I'd love to give them an earful of my bad experiences with Crapria.

We have Cigna/Carecentix and use Lincare for our DME. Much better in our area than Apria. It really depends on the local folks. Finding a DME you like makes a huge difference.

I HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH CARECENTRIX......CAN'T STAND THEM. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH CIGNA. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO?
Re: Got a call from my CIGNA and Carecentrix today!
I have Cigna and Carecentrix, and I have to say they've been great. It was a totally confusing experience in the beginning, but they came through for me. I did have to install a cell. modem on my ResMed, but they called me for the last few weeks and seen if I'm doing ok and were very helpful. I never had to pay a dime out of my pocket with them, I'm sure that's because of my insurance setup somehow, but I'm glad I have them. It's only been a few weeks with them, but the DME and doctor have been awesome to work with for me.

I totally hear you about insurance! I feel that way about Aetna. They fought me every step of the way and they won...wouldn't pay my claims. I'm sure my premiums helped the Insurance Execs have a nice vacation that year. Just kidding! I now have Humana Medicare Advantage. I talked to their Cust Serv Rep recently and was told that my cpap supplies won't be paid for but, then called the DME rep who told me that they just received the approval for them. I can't imagine someone working having to go through all the crap that they dish out. I'm retired and don't work any more and can, although not a pleasant thing to do and didn't anticipate this as part of my retirement, make the calls necessary to get things straightened out.bradb wrote:Just depends on regional representation and competition, I think. In some places they get fed so much automatic business that they feel they're "set" and have a chip on their shoulder... I'll save you the stories, as people have posted dozens of blogs and forum posts all over the internet with negative experiences. For example, I had a horrible experience and while I appreciate that they have the free "apnealink" devices to loan out to find potential future customers, I'll never touch them in business again if I can avoid it.MOTOR815 wrote:Why is everyone so down on APRIA ? I have them as my DME, as they have been fantastic in every way. The RT have been great to work with, and have helped me over the hump when I was having so many problems I was ready to give it up. They helped me choose the right mask for me. They've returned all my phone calls, and always been professional and courteous, and seemed genuinely interested in helping.pratzert wrote: But guess what ? They use CRAPRIA as their sub-contracted DME supplier.
So now, not only do I have the displeasure of dealing with CareCentrix, but I still can't get away from CRAPRIA.

Never underestimate the power of a phone call. Payflex just notified me they had denied my last 3 orders from cpap.com
($940 total) I called asking, "What is going on? Why do they need a letter of medical necessity,
when they already have my prescription?, good for 99 months, and OSA does not go away----is incurable, etc, etc."
She asked to put me on hold, and after about 5 minutes came back to say all items were allowable, and she would fix the error.
I asked if she would please email me confirmation when this was done. (fist pump)

Re: Got a call from my CIGNA and Carecentrix today!
When you order from Apria's 800 number ( the people there are more informed about cpap supplies) but they send the order to the local branch. On some items a form has to be signed by your Doctor. That's why it is a good idea to check back, if you don't receive your supplies in less than 7 days. For me that has been the where the problem has been. Some times the Doctor's office is slow about sending the request back. Once my items are actually ordered say Thursday, I will have them Monday at the latest.
This branch will not let you have a 30 day test of masks. The exception is when a new person gets his machine then they give you a break with the first mask.
In 18 months I have never been taken advantage when it comes to billing.
