Look down and stick your hand in your pants. It is still there, just stop thinking with it.

Do you believe others should be responsiblef or your welfare? Yes or no?

Obviously I'm not her, but I was curious about what your response would be to my answers
ResmedUser wrote:Do you believe in personal responsibility? Yes or no?
Absolutely.
ResmedUser wrote: Do you believe others should be responsible for your welfare? Yes or no?
No, but I believe part of personal responsibility extends to being a responsible community citizen; including helping those less fortunate than me (be it due to disability, etc or temporary hard times).

I believe that, in modern times, this is often most effectively handled at the government level similar to national security and foreign relations. Show me a charity that can deal with that large of an amount of cash without being corrupt or a church that treats everyone fairly regardless of their belief and I might consider changing my mind. But for now, yes, I will put my trust in a government where I have at least 1 vote. I haven't forgotten that my fore-mothers had to fight for it less than 100 years ago.

I don't believe the problem in this country is the growth of government. Instead I believe it is the shrinking sense of community and the growing power of large, often multi-national, corporations.

You honestly believe you are "well represented" by the people you vote for? Do you believe we really live in a Democracy? We do not live in a Democracy we live in a representative Democracy, a Republic and that is stretching it a lot. Technically, we live in a CONSTITUTIONALLY LIMITED REPUBLIC. Everytime I hear someone claim the USA is a Democracy, I tell them they should go back to their high school social studies teacher and slap them upside the face.

LOL

Democracy my ass...

Fascinating... A perfectly wonderful thread started by TOken has been twisted into a political brawl. It's off topic even for the off topic. Once again, Mikey has made himself the center of attention.

@Mikey:

You've said on a previous thread that you want to get kicked from the forum, but you are still hanging around. Your entire reason for being here seems to be to destroy the sense of civility and decorum that graced this forum prior to your arrival. Your vocabulary and grammar bespeak a certain level of education, yet your antics engender third-grader retorts and defenses from the best of us. Your incessant and wide-casting lambast comes too often and too hard hitting for you to be anything other than a paid interloper. Either you are an industry competitor (or paid by such) attempting to destroy the success of cpaptalk.com and cpap.com or you are doing some sort of psychiatry thesis on social interaction of forum trolls within help fora. Either way, your ethics are on shaky ground. Again, please redress your attitude within the confines of the forum. If you must be a boor, find another venue.

I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Pakistan and when I told them I was
suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

I took them up on their offer because they offered a huge Sign-Up Bonus (in addition to the 50 Virgins).
But, I told them I wanted the Virgins up front.
But, they only delivered 25 Virgins. Seems like they could not find 50 virgins in this country.
