Re: My husband's sleep doctor/DME experience
Thanks everyone, for your support! I had all of you as my teachers.
Dori, I did the deep sighs and eye rolling too.
Sleeping Ugly, he doesn't like the Quattro FX, but asked for it case of congestion from a bad cold. The DME tech had him try it on, sitting up, at a pressure of 6. By then I didn't care, and didn't say anything. But that night, at his pressure of 9-12, it leaked all night every time he moved. Now, he's back to using my back-up Activa Lt, and has learned to control leaks very well.
Roster, I googled Cesar Milan...

I like Cesar (not crush) also and have watched his show many times. He is right on about how dogs should be treated so they are physically and mentally healthy.
Here is an excellent spoof of Cesar from South Park Studios: http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-ep ... 10e07-tsst
If you have never watched South Park before, be careful. The language is very rough.

Re: My husband's sleep doctor/DME experience
Katie - Great job!
I have learned so much on cpaptalk and always value your input, regardles of topic. I've been a hosehead for about 6 weeks now and am doing really great. That would not be the case if I did not have you and others here to rely on. I think I am a "cpaptalk addict" - I spend an awful lot of time checking things out here.
I have slept poorly for years but I always thought it was my husband who had sleep apnea. Go figure! Thankfully I was referred to a sleep md, had psg and ended up getting help.
Now, back to my husband. I think he would benefit from a psg but I am not going to push it. I know he is watching me with some interest (and trepidation). I'd be curious to know how your husband situation evolved to where he had the psg and decided to "go with the program" - whatever you wish to share would be appreciated.

Re: My husband's sleep doctor/DME experience
You are so right not to push it. I started cpap therapy Oct 2009, and he had his PSG Jan 2011, so it takes time....Manage your own therapy, and if your husband is watching you, he will notice the positive changes in you. When he is ready, he will take action.Bright Choice wrote: Now, back to my husband. I think he would benefit from a psg but I am not going to push it. I was late seeing this thread, too! What fun to read!!
I burst out laughing when I got to the sentence the doc wrote: "Apparently she has researched CPAP machines."
Nooooo kidding, doc. She sure has.
Katie, you're a treasure.
carbonman said it right:
