Not all dentists are so ignorant regarding CPAP. One of the first people who clued me into the fact that I had sleep apnea was my dentist, who told me that I would ocassionally fall asleep in the dental chair, and also that he thought that my palette was shaped in such a way as to make me susceptible to it. Around the same time, I had a near-accident from dozing off at the wheel, and some productivity issues on my job due to exhaustion. But it was actually my Dentist that got me off the dime to have a sleep study, and sure enough, I had severe apnea, and I responded extremely well to CPAP, and I've been using it ever since (about 11 years).

An interesting thread. I think I'm having the opposite problem--my bite seems to be getting tighter. It seemed very tight this morning after nine hours with the nasal mask. This evening it seems more normal. I'm going to try a mouth guard and see what happens.
