Something new happened to me last night. I settled into bed to read before going to sleep, mask on as usual. As I was reading, I went to flip the hose to the other side of my face and it came unattached from the mask. I popped it back in, but after that, I could hear a "popping" sound. It sounded like it was coming from the end of the hose, where it meets the mask. I tried moving the hose around, and it moved freely, so no problems there. I turned the Cpap off and back on again, but it didn't stop. When I breathed in fast, it "popped" fast, when I breathed in very slow, it didn't "pop" at all.
Anyone know what could be causing that? After a few minutes, it really started to annoy the crap out of me.

Maybe it's some condensation in the hose? And the sound you're hearing is water droplets? That's how mine sounds anyway when it's too humid.

Exactly what it sounds like to me too - water in the hose. As air gets thru the water you hear a pooping noise which echoes up the hose.xenablue wrote:Maybe it's some condensation in the hose? And the sound you're hearing is water droplets? That's how mine sounds anyway when it's too humid.

For now try raising the hose higher than the humidifier and look for the water running back. Then you will have to turn down the HH (Heated Humidifier) half way from where it is now until it stops collecting water.
Search the forum for ideas using "rainout" for a search word.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Hmm, I searched for popping and clicking with no success. It never ocurred to me that this might be a water problem. Thanks for the replies. I will fiddle with it tonight.

I don't have your mask but mine has an anti-asphyxiation valve at the elbow to make sure you vent CO2 to atmosphere and breathe only pap conditioned air. Mine pops when I restrict the flow out of the vent at this valve location. I sometimes play with it (by covering the hole) to make it pop and ensure its correct operation. My guess is that your mask has a similar flapper valve that pops when sealing closed to ensure unwanted CO2 is venting outward.

Did it sound like a gurgle? Try using "gurgling" or "gurgle" or just "water in hose" as a search word.sleepy.sleeperson wrote:Hmm, I searched for popping and clicking with no success. It never ocurred to me that this might be a water problem. Thanks for the replies. I will fiddle with it tonight.
