I'm old enough to remember the days when it seemed like most people smoked. When I turned 16, my mom told me it was alright with her if I wanted to start smoking. Up to that time I just wanted to figure out what brand I wanted to be identified with. I tried one of my brothers cigarettes and about turned my lungs inside out. I never touched another and could not understand the habit. There were also candy versions of cigarettes available. They were half filled with bubble gum and powder and if you blew through them some fake "smoke" would come out the other end. The first thing we would do with these is rip the paper off and then chew the gum. I guess these were cigarettes with training wheels. Anyway, I second the motion for contemporary air!

I would think if you smoke cigarettes this would be a wonderful way to stop smoking if you wanted to.
Yes, some of the juices they sell have nicotine in them but there are many flavors
that don't have nicotine in them. Like clove, cinnamon, apple etc.
You could wean yourself down to no nicotine.
It could be an aid to help one "kick the habit".

I think this is something new which is why I posted about it in a OT way.

It is a little pricey at first but is much cheaper to use in the long run. Mine has been used on a cruise ship and hospital in front of the doctors. I am happy to be a non smoker for sure.

Congratulations!

I see recommendations for suppliers of juice http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ ... vored.html . Which supplier do you use?

I mis my own juice. I use propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin and a little flavoring. My favorite is Bickfords coffee. For my other supplies I get those from http://www.vaporkings.com

Hi all. I'm not a spammer but I did come here to talk about e-cigs. I've been using them for about 18 months now and I believe that without them, I would not have been able to quit smoking. For those that are curious:

-Yes, you do still get nicotine, although studies show that you actually get far less than from cigarettes
-All of the other harmful chemicals from smoking are eliminated when using electronic cigarettes
-There are many different styles and flavors, it may take a while before you find "the one"

I think e-cigarette-forum was mentioned above. That is the number one resource for information and discussion of electronic cigarettes. I go there daily to keep up to date on what's going on. If you have a smoker in your life, I highly recommend that you let them know about e-cigs. Who knows, it could just save their life.

I am currently starting a company to sell e-cigs in the Nebraska area. If anyone is in the region, PM me if you'd like a free sample (if you'll give me honest feedback!) and you can check out what I'm working on here: Electronic Cigarettes in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska.

PM me if you have any questions about electronic cigarettes or for a recommendation of which model would be best for you or your loved one.

Thanks!
Jason

How about a design for one that can be placed inline in a CPAP hose? It would need to hold enough juice for eight hours.

If you are an Alcoholic, and trying to quit drinking it, can you change to another kind of alcoholic drink to cure yourself from being a drunk. NO! The same applies to any type if addiction or drug.

You chose your addiction. You must want to change and be willing to quit. Changing the form of the addiction is little help. Jim

Vaping was an issue on an episode of Untold Stories of the ER.
A "non-smoker" nearly died of nicotine poisoning---FROM VAPING!
Juice is unregulated, and he had been using an off-brand product,
that turned out to be unintentionally CONCENTRATED.
VERY NEARLY DEADLY.
