Pain

Post by clubber » Wed Jan 19, 2011 4:49 pm

Have a blue comfort gel facemask. Keep getting a sore (cut) right where my lip meets my nose. Tried lotion, tried readjusting mask. 2 months, sore won't heal, blood every morning.
Please help. Have gone back to nasal pillows, which I don't sleep well with.

Goodness, I am so sorry to hear about your sore. I'd highly suggest going back to your DME and trying to find a better mask for you. When I tried on nasal masks, the gel masks did not work for me (hurting me right in the same area yours is hurting you), but I did like the F&P Zest mask which uses a very soft foam instead of gel.

It sounds like the mask may be too small and/or you are wearing it too high. If you can't get a new mask try adjusting the top straps to allow the mask to sit lower on your face. That worked for me but I would recommend you try a different mask.
