Special Doctor or my regular Doctor?

Post by jeremiahchub » Tue Jan 18, 2011 1:39 am

Ok, Here goes. My regular doctor deals with people with Diabetes, general practice and sleep apnea. Indiana is telling me that I can't use my regular Dr. for downloading my cpap for me to get my CDL back. Do I have to get another doctor JUST for the sleep apnea, or should I fight the state on this since my doctor IS trained and certified to deal with people with sleep disorders?

Any idea? Help?

Welcome to the forum, Jer. I enjoyed chatting with you earlier this evening (morning... )

Since Indiana is being pretty tough, and your CDL (commercial driver's license) is so important, I think I'd go along with what Indiana is insisting on.

You might try this... if there's a sleep lab or sleep center in your town, drop by there in the daytime. Ask if there's a tech who isn't busy at the moment, who could talk to you for just a few minutes. Explain to the tech what's happened to you and ask if he/she could suggest a doctor who is board certified in "sleep medicine" who might be sympathetic to your plight. Perhaps the tech knows of a sleep doctor who would be willing to do the download (more likely the doc would just have a DME he deals with a lot actually do the download) and handle Indiana that way. Perhaps the doctor would do that for you free (yeah, a lot to hope for) if he's so inclined. Worth a try, anyway.

OK, here is an update. I think I might have been able to score a copy of Encore Pro 2.4 (x64bit and x32bit) Version. I will try installing and see what happens. I'm running windows 7 pro on SEVERAL computers so if i can get this to work, I'll make a youtube video on how to install.

You might want to contact truckerdad57 at apneasupport.com or at least go to awake.truckersforacause.com
