need help: serial cable for Resmed Adapt SV

Hi Everyone,

I am a brand new member of this forum. I hope to get help on my query from wonderful members of this forum.

In nutshell, I need help finding appropriate serial cable to download data from ResMed Adapt SV.

Details:
I was "upgraded" last week to ResMed Adapt SV from ResMed VPAP Auto 25. I used ResScan software and SmartCard reader ACR38 (P/N ACR38U-PN-R) to donwload data from VPAP Auto 25. It worked great.

I would like to do the same with ResMed Adapt SV. My DME is wiling to sell me Serial cable ($29.00) or Serial to USB cable ($60). These prices are outrageous.

In one of the threads (viewtopic/t48745/Adapt-SV-Newbie-Questions.html), JohnBFisher talked about getting serial cable from NewEgg.com. For me, it is still costly and looking for more cost effective cable/solution.

I have found Monoprice.com to be much cheaper when it comes to purchasing great quality cables. I contacted Monoprice and asked them if they have cable similar to the one JohnBFisher pointed out on NewEgg.com (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6812200051).

Question:

+ Would someone please let me know if they have used this cable successfully to download data from ResMed Adapt SV? Or,
+ Do you think this cable from Monoprice is appropriate (e.g. correct spec) to download data from ResMed Adapt SV?
