I love it already.
As a back up it might be great.
Just think ....want to nap in that Easyboy chair?
Just feel like your going to fall asleep sitting there watching a stupid tv show, but it's 2 in the afternoon.
Sometimes the sofa just puts me to sleep, but my machine is in the bedroom.

All that and battery option too.

No price yet. It says Jan. 21st.

It's simple, and not for everyone. But it looks good for what I would want it for. (No not the airplane)
I qualify as per the questions.

Just know that the battery pack is still "attached" via a wire to the "cap". There is a spot on the back where you plug in a cord, either to a wall outlet, or to a separate battery pack. That's the part that has me concerned. I can just see myself getting tangled up in a cord! I think I'd rather get tangled in my hose than in an electrical cord. Strangulation, anyone?

At this time, it is a better fit for patients who use a nasal seal, are comfortable wearing a hat, don’t wear or can become accustomed to not wearing a chin strap, and don’t require C-flex, ERP or Auto features. Pricing will be competitive to other CPAP-humidifier combinations on the market. Beginning January 21 more pricing details will be available from online dealers. http://www.mytranscend.com/pages/WheretoBuy/.
I'm uncertain of its advantages as a backup cpap, but certainly, I can see an advantage in this design as a travel cpap. It's much more compact to carry than a standard system (e.g. no hose). A major concern, though, is how quiet this machine will be. There are few options to allow one to isolate any noise that it makes and there's a real concern that the noise may be transmitted directly into your skull! Can you fit a mouse pad under it?
I'm workin' on it.

When I fall asleep on the sofa the TV is usually on and that doesn't bother me one bit.
But the sound of a motor on my head may. In the afternoon I'm very capable of blocking out most everything. It's at night in bed that everything annoys me.
Can't wait to hear the reviews.

Were we told not to hold the cell phone next to the ear because it makes electromagnetic waves that may cause brain cancer?

Does the fan motor in Transcend make electromagnetic waves?

Just askin'.

The fan motor would give off electromagnetic waves but they could easily be shielded by a metal can around the motor. Some people sleep with magnets in their pillow or mattress padding as a perceived health benefit from magnetic fields. Some people sleep with heating blankets which covers the entire body with electromagnetic waves running through the heating wires. Then there are headphones and earphones which also give off electromagnetic waves.
On the other hand, a cell phone is constantly sending and receiving radio frequency transmissions from a cell tower which produces radio frequency radiation, which is an entirely different "color" and intensity from electromagnetic waves from a motor. Bluetooth headsets stuck in your ear also give off EMF emissions. Emissions from a motor and emissions from a transceiver are apples and oranges. I can't say that one or the other or either are dangerous at the levels found in the devices. The U.S. National Institutes of Health has found no link between cell phone use and cancer (just checked their website http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/fact ... cellphones). I would not live under high power electrical lines though.

I think the power company would have you arrested for trespassing.

Oh, you said, "would not."

Seems like a reasonable precaution.

It's available today! Who wants one?

I found it online for a "special" price of $599.

I'm sure there are a few people it will work for, but I'm not one of them!

I'am one of them....I can sleep with anything.....just about. I would love to add this to my "collection".

Ouch the price is a bit high. Maybe this is what I'll ask for as my birthday present.

I don't think that I could sleep with a motor on my head. Also, what about turning from side to side, would it not shift? I have trouble with the velcro strap on my Swift FX slipping on my hair. I can just imagine the big machine on my head shifting all over the place as I turn. It doesn't look too comfortable....

If anyone does take a chance and buy this thing, please report back on what it was like to wear it!

Regards to all,

Jersey Girl
