I've been on CPAP for a month now and wake up one or two times a night--which is about the same as before CPAP. The difference it that in between I am sleeping much deeper and in the morning I'm not tired. When I do wake up -usually to got to the bathroom, I go back to sleep almost immediately. Maybe some day I'll sleep through the night, but I doubt it. Doesn't bother me as my life is still a lot better.

Using one "what"? What are you using, what are your settings, etc., etc.
Do you have a data-capable machine?
Your 2-hour wake-ups could correspond with sleep cycles.
If you're using an APAP in a range of pressures, your breathing changes could trigger the machine to increase pressure, which could be the cause of your awakenings.

I did register. However, I was only replying to the previous topic. I was not requesting any help. As a result of your post I will probably not participate.

Thank you so much for posting this. I started CPAP just last week and have already changed masks once because my wife was not happy about sleeping next to Darth Vader! The noise from the vent was enough to keep her awake. I was switched to a nasal pillow with a bit that goes over the mouth and yet once the thing gets up to full pressure, it feels like I'm sleeping in a wind tunnel and have to wake up, switch it off and start all over again.

I know I have a long way to go but have to keep reminding myself that waking up once every 2 hours is better than what my OSA was doing to me, and I don't feel tired, so it's all good.

I miss dreaming though, because that's when I'm a Viking!

Three weeks in, I've managed it a couple of times. Just wake up long enough to roll over & re-situate the hose.

You're probably still "dreaming".......but you're probably doing it in a deeper sleep stage and consequently don't remember them. Most "remembered" dreams happen in lighter sleep stages and at the point when a person wakes up.

Hang in there. It's "baby steps".

If you need a full face mask because you'd lose therapy air out of your mouth otherwise, you need a full face mask. Unfortunately your wife may have to learn to adapt, maybe you can find a different mask that vents less forcefully, but don't shortchange your treatment because of this.

When the pressure shoots all the way up, I suspect it's an APAP set wide open. (4-12)
Nothing like making the patient miserable to get them to trade down to a BRICK!
DON'T let them do it. Many of us use an auto machine set for a tighter range (mine is 9.2-13)
Some folks set theirs for a single pressure--whatever rings your bell!
An APAP will run in cpap mode if needed--not something many providers will tell you.
