To use the RESMED S9 with a 24 V battery one has to use a pull up resistor of 22 k between the RESBUS wire and the 24 V wire.

To overcome the connector problem, just cut your original cable and put in good quality 3 pins connectors to choose from original or own power supply.

If you have another voltage available (12 V battery for instance) use a DC-DC converter to obtain 24 V. I myselve use a 36 to 42 V e-bike battery pack with DC-DC converter. This gives me 5 to 6 nights use of the S9. The humidifier unit is electrically disconnected but connected with a tube to the S9.
