I need help. I am so tired
I need help. I am so tired
It hurts. I can,t breath with it on. The air hurts the inside of my nose. It wakes me up. It seems to fit properly. I am a nervous wreck with it on.
Re: I need help. I am so tired
Sounds like you need to talk to your doc. You may need a mild sedative to get you through the first week or so. In the meantime, try any of the nighttime pain relievers (Tylenol PM, Advil PM, etc.)to help with the pain and help you sleep
First of all, what's hurting, what is your pressure?
Please fill out your profile, in text, so we know what machine and mask you are using.
Hang in there it gets better.

Re: I need help. I am so tired
jawack,
I really do understand. I'm still struggling with my own monsters concerning this beast. But with support it will get better.
You do need to talk to your doctor.
Can you describe how it hurts when you try to breathe. Does it feel like you're being forced to breath too much air? Or does it feel like too little air is coming through the mask? Is the inside of your nose too dry? Or is it physically sore because of the nasal pillows rubbing against the inside of it? And can you be more precise about what's triggering the anxiety? Claustrophobia? Or mere discomfort?
The keys to solving your problems lie in analyzing what your problems actually are. And good solutions for you are will be highly personal. So my first piece of advice to you is: You will want to read widely here (and elsewhere). Take what sounds like it might work. And file away for later what sounds like it might not work (for now). But be open to new ideas.
But you first must figure out what the problems actually are.
For me, I've had numerous problems: Some have been pressure related that have required multiple trips to the sleep doctor's office and appointments (including emergency ones) with his PA. So my second piece of advice: Do NOT hesitate to call the doctor's office if you are in serious pain and distress. I've also had real problems with insomnia that has triggered by certain very speicific physical stimuli that are caused by the CPAP/BiPAP. These have been harder to resolve, and I am continuing to work on them both with guidance from the doctor's PA and plenty of advice, guidance, and support from the kind folks here at the forum and my husband. So my third piece of advice: Take the time to write clearly and specifically about what your problems are, what your equipment is, what you've done to to try to address the problem, and what, if anything the result has been. That will help the folks here on the board---and the doctor and his nurse or PA as well---come up with better quality ideas that will be more targeted to your particular situation and more likely to be useful to you.
Good luck and best wishes.

Re: I need help. I am so tired
Jswack, welcome to the forum. We'd be able to give more specific help if you could be a bit more specific about your difficulties and if we knew which equipment you're using. Feeling like you can't breathe can be because of pressure too low or too high, and without knowing the pressure you're currently running we can't give more accurate advice. Please fill in your profile (text, not pix) and tell us more because we really want to help!
