2nd Night on my new FX

Post by snnnark » Sat Jan 01, 2011 10:03 am

Wow this mask (kindly donated by Snug ) is so light and unobtrusive!

The 1st night I only managed 2 hours before nare irritation made me go back to the Activa, but last night I managed 8.5 hours! I backed off tension one notch on the silicone strap and that seemed to make the difference.
AHI not great at 10.9 but that may be because I'm not using the rebreathe with the swift.

So my impressions of the FX
Pros :
Very light.
Easy on and off.
Setup easily.
No need to hang off the side of the pillow.

Cons
Silicone straps fairly chunky for a side sleeper.
Exhaust air can be annoying.
Swivel connector doesn't! (Overhead hose hanger)

Overall it seems a really nice mask and my thanks again to Snug.

Hmm, I'm going to have to change my avatar!

It is a great mask, and an overhead hose hanger really helps. It points those exhaust holes up and away from you instead of directing them to you and the bedclothes.
AHI not great at 10.9 but that may be because I'm not using the rebreathe with the swift.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "not using the rebreathe."???

I use a homemade rebreathe system for complex sleep apnea. Can't afford an ST or ASV machine.
