I really like mine, have no problems with leaks, which is not true of the other full face masks I have used.

I guess this goes to show that no mask is the panacea for everyone. The first FF mask I tried was the FlexiFit, and it was hell on wheels for me. I ended up going with an Ultra Mirage FF, and although it is prone to leaking when I change from my usual prone sleeping position, for the most part it does what its supposed to do - act as a stand-in for my Activa when I'm too congested to use it.

From what I've been able to gather, in the short time I've been learning about Sleep Apnea, is that one needs to try a mask for oneself and make a subjective determination about its efficacy.

I have a FP 431 full face mask. It goes under the chin so it doesn't slip off as often. Other than that it is noisey and I dont like the headgear compared to the Ultra Mirage..

Cheers,

Flexifit Full Face 431 problems

Post by SLEEPY_RICHARD » Sun Jan 02, 2005 11:35 pm

The FlexiFit 431 is very comfortable to wear but terrible to use!!

It has been made cheaply and has no anti-suffocation valve - the FlexiFit instead has a non-return valve in the elbow, this means that when you exhale you have to FORCE the air out the exhaust vents and this means you are exhaling against a MUCH higher pressure than your machine is running at and is VERY uncomfortable!

Try this yourself - place the mask firmly on your face and hold it so it won't leak - now take a deep breath and try to exhale!!

P.S. Sometimes I think the manufacturers bring out masks and sell lots, because no-one says anything and then the manufacturers decide to change it - still without proper testing - the 431 could never have been tested - see my comment above about how you can test it without even putting the harness on, and you can see straight away that it is no good!!

I am currently using a Resmed FF Ultra and it does leak a bit but at least you can breath in it.

The cheap swivil at the elbow is hard to turn and squeeks when it does turn , its loud , like a jet engine in your face and thats at only 5 cm wc. Headstrap is like something from that movie "Hannible the Cannible" Have to pull this "quik release " HA , to get it off.
J Just high priced JUNK IMHO. Try the Resmed FF . Or just learn to breath thru your nose.

IMHO...........DON"T BUY IT

I wanted a flexi fit full face mask, but they were all too long. I liked the under the chin fit. When will cpap mask manufactures develop more sizes? I know they have more than they used to, but they need more smaller sizes!
