Hey all.. Great site with great info from users.. First off, I'm using the S9 escape CPAP only, 20cm H2O, EPR is 17cm H2O. Have not been able to sleep a whole night through yet. Received machine 11/23/10. Using comfort gel blue nasal mask.
Back and forth with Dr. and DME has finally allowed change of machine to Bipap Auto M with Biflex with setting of 4-25cm. I see from the CPAP.com site that this is no longer offered. Does this mean discontinued?, Old model?. It does bring me to a link for PR system one Remstar Auto w/Biflex. Since I am still waiting for the DME to contact me (obviously my insurance company is the hold up) should I expect to get the M series since that is what is on the script or should I contact the Dr. to change to the PR System.
My Dr. said that the M series is the "best" Bipap machine out. I would love some opinions and hopefully will get the best machine for me.
Thanks so much!!!

PR System One BiPAP is the current model BiPAP from Resprionics. The Series M is the old one.pasc225 wrote:Hey all.. Great site with great info from users.. The System One has been out for about a year I think. But somebody here will undoubtably correct me if I'm wrong.
Is it possible that your insurance is going to demand proof that you've "failed" at regular CPAP/APAP? Mine did.

Thanks for the info Robysue... I know my Dr. said he has fully documented my troubles with CPAP and will push for the Bipap. I do not anticipate a problem with my insurance co. (BC/BS). I will definitely ask for the system one!!.

Re: S9 Escape....Ughhhh!!! to Bipap
Hi,
Please check the settings for your Bi-PAP. The unit has a max range of 4-25CM H2O. A setting of 4-25CM H2O is not a normal patient setting.
Check with your doctor to find what your setting is suspose to be. Tell the doctor what the setting is on your unit.
My DME provided my unit to me with this same setting (A.K.A. known as wide open.) That was not the dorctor's order and was impossible for me to tolerate. It was corrected the next day 10-15CM H2O.

Re: S9 Escape....Ughhhh!!! to Bipap
I haven't picked up my Bipap machine yet. I am looking at the copy of the script from the Dr. and it is calling for 4-25cm. Currently on CPAP w. pressure 20cm. I will definitely check the range when I pick up my unit. Thanks.....
