I switched to the Mirage Quattro 3 nights ago from ca 7 days of using the Swift Nasal Pillow. (I started 12/8). With the pillow, I had too many air puffs wrecking my sleep and I also had terrible dry mouth. The Mirage took care of the puffs and most of the dry mouth; but even though I seem to get more sleep and my API has been at 0.1 or 0.2 since I started CPAP on 12/8 (the sleep study revealed 18., I feel much worse than ever before. I also noticed that since wearing the Mirage that the left side of my face has been really puffy during the following day. The mask seems to sit comfortably, though, just loose enough not to leak.
So there are 2 questions:
Can the face puffiness be related to the mask?
Why do I feel so bottomlessly tired even though I seem to sleep and have low API? Is this still all a matter of adjusting to CPAP? Meaning, this may all be totally normal at this stage?

Re: adjustment to Mirage Quattro mask question
Are you a side sleeper??? You could be smooshing the mask into your face yourself. I sleep on the ouside edge of my pillow and the quattro sort of hangs over. I don't have any marks on my face in the morning...another thought is the strap is pulled tighter on that side. Hold your mask up and measure the straps if one is much longer that the other that could also be it.christinepi wrote:I switched to the Mirage Quattro 3 nights ago from ca 7 days of using the Swift Nasal Pillow. As to being still tired, perhaps your sleep debt is a really big one and you haven't caught up yet. it takes time and patience to get back to feeling good and have more energy...don't push it.
