Nose irritation worsens and now leak?

Hi, My Quattro has been quiet as a tomb since day one. Also since day one I have been waking with a red mark and bump on my nose. I got a gel-like pad from cpap.com to put on my nose; it is actually transparent and made of mineral oil.

It has not worked for my nose irritation (except that my nose is not as sore: red mark is still therer and worse everey morning and now, when I wake in the morning, I hear a slight hiss. I cannot feel a leak anywhere, but when I bear down hard on the lower part of the mask, the hiss disappears.

I ordered from Pad-a-cheek last week. Maybe the mark piece I ordered will help with the sore nose. But any ideas on the leak and how to fix it. Or on how to make the patch I have work better? I am disappointed as I know this clear patch has worked well for many.

Just read that someone had this problem and went to the Ulta Mirage? Any help from anyone on this would be so appreciated.Thanks for chiming in.

anyone know when the Quattro FX is due to come to America? I just found out about it, and it looks great.

How long has it been since you replaced the cushion?

I've had the same problem--it was fine, then it was leaky and uncomfortable. I sleep with my chin on my hand, to keep the mask down. I don't have a sore nose,but sore cheeks and jaw.
I'm going to try a smaller size, but maybe a new cushion wouldn't hurt.

A Quietus cloth CPAP mask liners should solve your problems like it did mine.

Check and make sure the hissing isn't coming from the hose elbow swivel on the front of the mask. Mine does that, drove me nuts looking for a leak I couldn't find until I grabbed the swivel and rocked it back and forth. I discovered that hissing stopped when I wiggled it one way, then came back when I wiggled it back the other way. Not sure why the swivel started leaking for no apparent reason. Maybe wear and tear, I've been using it for going on four years now. Time to replace it me thinks.
