aerophagia and CPAP

Post by cassel » Thu Dec 16, 2010 5:48 am

Great news for those suffering from aerophagia. I've finally found a solution for using a CPAP and not getting aerophagia, and I want to share it with everybody.
I have been using CPAPs/BIPAPs etc for many years and many mornings I've suffered from aerophagia. I tried all sorts of solutions but nothing worked. Now B"H I seem to have found a solution that works. I use by Remstar Auto machine in A Flex level 1 mode. I've done this for a month now and have not had aerophagia once. I hope it works for you as well.

That's good news cassel .... that is one of our recommendations when someone comes to the lab with a complaint of aerophagia and why we use auto machines with expiratory relief on everyone tested in our lab (except, of course, those who need bilevel)

I'm glad that worked for you. It most certainly did not work for me.

Worked for me. I have a narrow pressure range set on my auto and A-Flex at 1.

I'm not sure whether it is the A-Flex or the narrow pressure range that helps . It may be a bit of both.

I also have a narrow pressure range (4-8) but It seems to be the A flex that does the trick because I used CPAP and BiPAP and AutoPAP with C flex, each for years, and always had occasional aerophagia.
