Cable for Resmed S9

Post by Danj » Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:03 am

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can purchase a cable to run from my Resmed S9 to my computer so that I can read the detailed info. I have read the info on the SD card but it only shows me how long the unit is in use per nite. I would like to know about apneas, leaks, etc.

Thanks, Dan J

No cable is required. You do need the Rescan software and it will read the data on your SD card. If your computer does not have a card reader they are available at any store ( Wal Mart, Best buy, etc. ) for around $10.00. I am newby so any more detailed info would have to come from one of the pros!

Dan, Are you maybe just looking at the S9's screen? I have ResScan installed on my PC, which downloads the SD card information and displays all kinds of detail. Do you have ResMed's SD card reader?

I have installed the resmed software on my computer. I put the SD card in my SD drive (my computer accepts SD cards) and the only data I could see was "mask events". I did not see any other data. Maybe my machine needs set to record the othr data? If so do you know how I do that?

Thanks, Dan J

An S9 Escape, doesn't provide any detailed info.

Cheers,

Bill

Dan, go back to your Dr. or dme provider and politely insist on an S-9 Autoset, or at the minimum an S-9 Elite. You were given an entry level machine and were taken advantage of. If you can call your Dr. and ask for a prescription for "auto pap" (an Autoset or Elite,) you will be glad you did after you learn more here. The same billing code is used for the Escape as for the Elite or Autoset, so you should not have to pay any more out of pocket if you have insurance, the big difference is how much profit the dme provider gets, the cheaper the machine, the more money they make. They are not out for your best interest. You need to follow your own therapy, not wait for a Dr. visit for every problem that arises, that is why "everyone" should have a data capable machine. Read as much here as you can, there's a great wealth of info. Remember, there are no dumb questions, we all started out as newbies. Good Luck! john

I just referred to my clinical manual for our machines,
The data cable does not transfer detailed info; just compliance and summary.
My beloved left his card out for several days; and we're thinking of putting a blank card in to retrieve the missing days--will that work?
What format needs to be on the 2G SD card?

I mistakenly left my card out for one night. When I reinstalled my ResMed card, it retrieved the summary data, but not the detailed data, for the night the card was out.

If the card was not in the machine the detail and high resolution data are gone. That data is written only to the card, not the machine memory. Just put your regular card back in. You'll get the summary data for the days the card was not inserted but that's all.
