Suddenly now, leaks

Post by 2flamingos » Mon Dec 13, 2010 9:27 am

Suddenly, I seem to have a leak problem with my mask. I have been using Swift LT as my go to mask since starting PAP a little over 2 years ago. Things had been going along pretty well - alternating between LT and Opus 360 - until I decided to check my numbers yesterday. I had not checked for a couple of months. I was surprised to see that for the last week (maybe longer) my leak line had not been the semi-straight zipper that it use to be. ALl of a sudden its gone wacko. I can't explain it - nothing different is going on otherwise. The nasal pillows are relatively new (less than a month old), and are still flexible. Headgear is not too tight or too loose. I don't think I am mouth breathing. I am waking up feeling pretty good - and sometimes without the alarm, my AHI is good - 1-5 to 3.5. Don't know what the problem is. Suggestions?

do you tape or use something to make sure that your mouth is closed?

If not... try it... if nothing else to rule out mouth leaks

I use to tape, then stopped - and saw no difference in leaks. I will give it a try again to see if that is the problem, but I don't wake up with the dry mouth, etc that are usual signs of mouth breathing.
