Worst Night of AHI Yet
I started my hosehead experience on the 10th of November. I have tried several different masks including the headrest, Optilife, Serenity, Swift LT and currently (only two night under my belt with this one) the Comfort Gel. Up until last night all my data shows I am doing fine with my treatment, low leakage and all but one night's AHI under 5. Last night I had a expected leak of 25.5 with an average of 27.0. All other readings good except my AHI, which was 8.5. I don't have a clue where this came from! I "thought" I slept well, felt good when I woke up. I am hoping this is just one of those "lows" on the great CPAP rollercoaster ride. Is this something "normal" that happens occasionally? I sure hope so, as I was very proud of my therapy thus far.

I think you should still be proud. Our sleep varies from night to night, so as long as tonight's numbers look more typical I'd just let this one go. Try not to obsess--difficult, I know--and I expect tonight's numbers will be better.

Are you using a chin strap? I started out good like you and I became really relaxed within a couple of weeks with my apap. Then the leaks started. I figured out that I became so relaxed that my jaw was dropping open at different times during the night and it was effecting my numbers.
If you are not using a chin strap you might want to start experimenting with them.
Congrats on your first month. Sounds like you are doing well.

Re: Worst Night of AHI Yet
Well folks, I think I answered my own question. I simply compared the print out of the night before last and last night's data. I see that I have several CA's on last night's data and none the night before. In looking at the time line, I see the CA's at exactly the same times I had turned onto my back. The night before I did not sleep on my back at all and had wonderful data results. Both nights I had excellant average leakage, so sleeping on my back must be the culprit. I will try to stay off my back tonight and see what the data looks like tomorrow. Thanks to all who responded.
