ResMed S9 Clinican's Guide?

Post by Gymrat76 » Fri Dec 10, 2010 4:12 am

Hi all

Just got my S9 Autoset today and am glad to have it again after returning the loan set last week!

Can anyone send me a copy of the clinician's guide for the S9 Autoset? I've been able to access the advanced menu, but there are 3 settings, off, on and patient.. whats the diff between on and patient?

Also, the EPR setting is off, should I enable it? I know I should be asking the doc about it, but my next appointment is in 6 months

Please send the clinician's guide to: jkhoo [at] g mail. com

Thanks a bunch guys!

Clinical Manual as provided by Uncle_Bob in an earlier post..

http://members.cox.net/robelliott1/S9%2 ... %20eng.pdf

Regarding the Off, On, Patient settings question - On mean on; Patient means controlled as on/off from the patient menu.

If it were me, I'd set the EPR to achieve optimal results based on readings from the S9. I know from past experience that I would not even have to ask my ENT because I know she would concurr. I'm not so sure about my DME's opinion on changing the settings but to me the DME's opinion is not relevant.

Ok, I've been coming here for only a short time, but REALLY!! the link info for software really should be a sticky note on this forum - or is there an issue with this?

Uncle_Bob must sometimes feel like it's groundhog day.... again

LOL gymrat - no need for you to be sorry - I just mean so many people (newbies) come here looking for access to the software and manuals.

Cheers,

Just guessing-but the good stuff probably has to keep moving around to be available.
Various companies having their say-so.-(covering cabooses, so to speak)
And then if location is inconsistent, the representatives can tell their bosses they took care of it.
--then go away for a while 'til somebody gets excited --again.
Poor Uncle Bob--so many hoops. what a circus! Thanks, UB--we love you.

Hi I got another question. I used my S9 for the first time last night, worked great with an AHI of 2.4 (my sleep study was 70-ish). Anyway, for the loan set I had, I remember when I took the mask completely off, it would stop after a few seconds. I tried with my new u it and it didn't stop, but kept blowing.

AutoStart is on, so what setting do I have to enable to have it stop when the mask is off? Or is it because it was still during the pre-ramp stage? Thanks

I don't use that machine, so I'm not certain about this, but I think there's an auto-off feature in addition to the auto-on. I expect another S9 user will be along shortly to help you with this.

1. Gymrat -- please take a minute to register on the site so you can use it fully. Then go up to the User Control Panel (upper left) and click..go to Profile and then Edit Equipmemt. Choose your gear from the pull down menus and then choose to show it in TEXT not icons. This will show your equipment at the bottom of each post in blue like mine.

2. The software is kept hidden because ResMed doesn't market it for patient use and we don't want it out in the open as a dedicated link that might draw attention to company sleuths. Uncle_Bob did have the links attached to his posts, but he has since taken those down due to a few complaints. So.... just PM him (which you cannot do until you are a registered member of the forum) and ask for the link to be sent back to you via PM.

That info will be in the clinician's manual!
