For quite awhile, I've had to tape all the edges of my H3i Humidaire humidifier on my ResMed Autoset Vantage S8 machine, in order to keep my leak rate low.
I was hoping to get an S9 soon, so I never replaced the possibly leaking water chamber, but finances have prohibited that. I recently found out that it wouldn't be expensive to just replace the water chamber, so that's what I did. They don't make the H3i any more, but rather make an "upgrade" to an H4i.
I've used it for 2 nights now, and unfortunately, the leak rate is still high. But then I started wondering..........its larger than the H3i, but there's no way of changing the H3i setting in the "Settings" menu. Would that change the meaning of the leak results??
I don't want to keep thinking I have an unacceptable leak, if the numbers are messed up now because the machine can't adjust to a different water chamber.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Question about upgrading my water chamber
I don't think the new humidifier would account for any leak rate. Sounds more like a mask issue to me.

Re: Question about upgrading my water chamber
If both chambers are actually leaking, why not just increase your "acceptable rate" by the amount the new chamber is actually leaking? It's a calculated number anyway. As long as it is low enough the machine can compensate, just raise your threshold.

Re: Question about upgrading my water chamber
I received an S8 AutoSet II this summer with an H4i humidifier. It reports in the menus as an H3i. I don't think there is anything to change, I bet electrically they're the same, just a different water chamber. This is how they can sell an upgrade kit.
