Lip Biting with mask
Hi all you fellow cpapies--haven't been around here in a while but I have a question that I thought you might be able to help me with. I have been alternating masks between the Hybrid and the Liberty mirage masks which work pretty good. I like the mirage better in some ways but with that i have to keep the humidity settings really low or i have too much water collecting in the nasal prongs and have trouble with it sealing in my nose--leakage ( I live in a very dry climate) so i've been using my hybrid more and more--but the last couple of months i've been waking up alot yelling out because i keep biting my lip! Does anyone have any ideas that i can use to keep this from happening. it's very painful--I think what's happening is that as my mouth and jaws are relaxing etc. somehow my teeth just end up on my lip and of course the more it happens the more it happens. Someone did suggest that maybe I could go to a dentist and get a mouth piece fitted to put between my teeth but aside from doing that --any suggestions?? thanks hope everyone is doing well

a chinstrap may help but you probably were chewing or jaw clenching or tooth grinding in your sleep before using the CPAP, see dentist, these are very common problems
