S9 Climateline hose settings?

Post by sleepyDB » Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:00 pm

I tried a search, but it didn't work for me. Just wondering if anyone can tell me where to set my new Climateline hose.

It's beginning to get cold outside now, and I'm looking forward to warm air! Our room temp. is in the low 60's and the humidity is quite low in the winter.

Am I right in the fact that the only thing I can set now is the TEMPERATURE of the air? I've always had my humidifier set at 2.5, but I don't see that now....only the temp.

I know it is a personal preference, but I truly have no idea what to set this temperature at! Tonight is the first night with the new hose. I have it set at 76 degrees now.......what do you think??

I think that you're right on. I have mine set at 76 degs. because it's the ambient air temperature that I like most. With the Climate Line tubing and the S9 Autoset the humidity is kept at 80% regardless of the temperature setting so just choose a temperature that you like and have a good night's sleep. It's no big deal.

Yep... just a temperature setting when you have the climateline on auto... that way the machine can choose the right humidity level to prevent rainout (and I've never had rainout since I got it). I use 75 degrees F.

When I started 3 weeks ago I had mine set at 80..it was WAY too warm. Over a few nights I found 76 to be very comfortable for me.

I and several others just happen to have hashed this same issue just a few days ago here: viewtopic/t57603/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=57 ... 57#p541257 In short, you can set temp and humidity separately, or you can leave it in Climate Control mode and set the temp. The humidity is then controlled by the S9.

Thanks so much to all of you for your responses. I will try tonight at 76 degrees and see what happens.

Also.....I hate the plastic feel of the tubing. Is it ok to cover the Climateline hose with a thin, fleece cover or will it mess up the temp and humidity???

Thanks!

I don't think it will mess it up because there is a temperature sensor at the end of the tube that controls how much heat is put into the air. Covering the tube should do nothing more than cause the machine to put less heat into the air as the air won't cool down as much as in an uncovered tube.
