I run sleepyhead on 10.5.8. The graphics stuff that sleepyhead uses only claims to support 10.6+ but it works for me on an Intel based mac.

Of course the Apple CEO recently said 40% of mac users were running the new stuff which means 60% are running 10.5.8 or older.

I have a MacBook Pro mid 2009. I run both SleepyHead on the Mac OS and ResScan on (Mac) Parallels hosting Windows XP.

Shouldn't be a problem with adequate ram. For about $50 you can kick your ram up to 8gig from OtherWorldComputing, who are Mac specialists.

Good luck,

Nate

If you mean XP, that's good, if it's something else, it may or may not be ok.

Parallels won't run on the G5 mac. Virtual PC may run but it would be painfully slow.

Yeah, that's it! I just don't use it anymore since I got my iMac ... Which I prefer to use.

MY iMac is a G5 which will not run windows ... My wife's does have the intel processor and could run windows stuff, but we don't use it like that.

I'd rather not use her machine either ...

If I get a FULL data capable APAP machine, (which seems like the best route as my ins pays 100%) will it store a months worth of data, so that when I get home from truck driving every 2 - 4 weeks I could down load it into my iMac? Or would it be better to bring my laptop in the truck and check how I'm doing every day?

Hmmm I think I may have answered my own question! By having data everyday I'd know what was going on ... I'm just trying to learn as much as possible, so when I get home next hopefully I can get everything I need!

Since I do plan on asking my Dr to prescribe a ResMed S9

Here is what it says (to answer my own question!)
The S9 Series is shipped with an SD card inserted. It provides detailed graphical data and high resolution flow data.

The S9 SD card stores:
365 days of therapy and compliance data (summary and statistics)
30 days of detailed data (graphs)
7 days of high resolution flow data

Be careful of S9 model names...the presence of a SD card doesn't guarantee full data like you are thinking.
The S9 Escape uses a SD card but only gathers hours of use...compliance hours of use to satisfy insurance requirements.
In general avoid any ResMed product with Escape in the name.

Janknitz has a page at her blog about the various machines and which offers easily obtainable full data and those that do not.

The S9 Elite (straight cpap) and the S9 Autoset (APAP) are full data machines. There is enough data available on the machine itself to get you by during the week while on the road if you didn't want to take your computer.

Thanks, I do plan on the Autoset with H5i and climateline, which seems like the best choice, since my ins company not only pays 100% but even if I need to pay for it 100% I figure it will be the best machine to get me using it every night ... Doesn't do me any good not hooked up to my face! And I figure that having one without all the data ... Is kinda like me driving blindfolded ... I can tell the engine is running and I'm moving ... But have no idea if I'm on the right road or even on a road! Forget about knowing if I have oil pressure or if I'm low on air pressure for my brakes!

I generally am gone three weeks at a time, sometimes my wife gets lucky and I get home as soon as only two weeks ... Other times it stretches to four weeks ...

It will do a great job for you.
You might want to start reading up on it and get the provider's manual.
Send me a private message with your private email address and I will send you a pdf copy of the manual.
We can't do attachments here at the forum so I have to do attachment from private email.

There is a video that would help also.
