I use 75 degrees. Keep in mind that if you set the humidifier to manual with the climateline hose, you could end up with rainout. The design of auto mode is such that you will never get rainout due to the machine keeping the relative humidity at 80%. If you put it in manual mode and have your humidifier setting too high, that is when rainout can occur. I have had an S9 since they first came out and have NEVER had rainout using auto climate control--something I could not say about my S8.

I should have clarified that I have the Climateline Hose and opted to keep the unit on "Automatic" because it should guarantee there's no rain-out. Besides, what's the point in buying the technology and then not use it?

It was only one night, but setting it at 80 degrees worked fine. My mouth wasn't dry and there wasn't a drop of water in the mask, despite the cool house temperature. I'm glad I asked for other opinions before trying it much lower, as I had planned. That probably wouldn't have been very pleasant.

And is this thing QUIET!

Thank you very much. I like it warm--especially when I'm ill. feels so good.

I tried 80 last night and woke up in the early hours with congested nasal passages after sleeping on my side

I'm going to go back to 72 tonight. The overnight lows have dropped into the low 40s so its the time of the year to turn on the heating on (70 degrees) and see how the climateline handles things during the winter months.

I always wondered why Resmed refers to the current settings as manual and automatic. I would call it manual and semi-automatic since you still have a manual setting to adjust in auto mode. Why is there no true fully automatic mode?

I hope i don't have to pull out my old hose with the heated repti-cable and fleece cover

How do you adjust the temperature setting? No hardcopy instructions on this and cannot find them online.

Which machine?

Once you determine which machine exactly then go to the above link and request the provider manual and it explains how to change everything.
