I am new with my theraphy within the last few months and am feeling sooo much better. my question is that I am travelling to Dominician Republic for the xmas holidays and want to take my machine with me. Any problems with travelling and taking your equipment through airport security? Thanks

There was a similar question asked just a day or two ago that you could look up for more details, but just to recap from my experience.
If you have a travel bag for the CPAP that has the company logo on it, that helps as they are generally recognized. Also carry any paperwork with it such as a manual or something for it to prove what it is. I have not had anyone question me on my trips to England, I think these are pretty common devices. Make sure you carry it on though, do not try to check it.
So like I said, I have had no problems in trips between here and London, but having some proof of what it is is always helpful just in case.

you won't have any problem
I haven't been to Dominican Rep, but have been to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and a few islands in the vicinity. First time I went I was all nervous about taking diabetic syringes, imagining that I would be whisked away and languish in jail the rest of my life for having "paraphernalia". I got a letter from my doctor, made sure all my meds were in the correct bottle, properly labelled, up to date, and on and on and on....
Nobody even looked. And if they did, it would have delayed me by maybe 10.... 15 seconds.
If in doubt, pack your CPAP stuff with a pair of flippers.

I was in Italy during the summer and I had absolutley no problems getting through customs. They didn't even search my bag, but I suspect that if they had it would not have been an issue. If you are worried you could consider obtaining a copy or your RX from your doc to carry with you.
Happy travels!
