Remstar Plus M Series CFLEX as Backup Machine

I tried to post this earlier, but it didn't appear. So, please forgive me if it duplicates.

I'm meeting with my Dr tomorrow to discuss my sleep studies and I presume Machines. I'm going to ask him to write a prescription for a Resmed S9 Autoset Auto CPAP with H5i Humidifier and a Hybrid Full Face Mask.

Prior to this meeting I've been researching used machines as a backup. I've fond a Remstar Plus M Series CFLEX with Humidifier and 28 hours (no hoses) with a new Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask (Lg), and new Opus 360 Pillow CPAP mask for under $150 total.

My thoughts are I would be able to try a couple of different masks at a low cost with the "hassle" of Medicare. I do want to ensure the Remstar Plus M Series CFLEX is full data compatabile. The descriptions indicate it uses Encore SW.

I have two questions:

1. Does this strategy make sense, or should I wait until I find out what the Dr will provide?
2. Does the Remstar Plus M Series CFLEX have full data compatability? I don't think it's on the list.

2. no it's not fully data capable

Well, I guess I don't want the M series, I thought since the technical specs indicated it was compatible with Encore SW it was data capable.

There are multiple models in the "M series" line. Some of them have data. The "Plus" model, which I have, does not. However, if it's just a backup machine do you absolutely need data?
