Heated hose vs hose cover

Post by trytryagain » Sat Nov 06, 2010 9:32 am

I've been using a fleece hose cover from PAC, never have any rainout. I have been setting my humidity level to 4.5. Would there be any benefit to switching to a climateline heated hose? In other word, is the hose cover and humidity setting equivalent to a heat hose only?

I find that my climateline uses more water (of course, I'm in central NY and we're already seeing some snow outside a bit), but I like the fact that it coordinates the heat and humidity.

I got the climateline specifically for the winter.

The Climateline has really helped get that extra humidity into my clogged-up nasal passages--my first cold since becoming a hose-head.
I had to finally use my Quattro--oddly, I don't hate it so much any more--but the leakage is horrendous.
Without the heated hose I would have had such a cold nose. Just this illness makes the Climateline worth having. (Sniff)

I use both. Like to keep my hose clean with the hose cover, have my settings at.... humidity 2.5 and hose at 2..and my humidifier is almost dry in the morning, approx 1/4 to 3/4 inch of water left.
