Need Help Interpreting Sleep Study Results

Post by xenablue » Mon Nov 01, 2010 11:43 am

If someone would care to help me with this, I would be most grateful. Or possible point me to a site that will explain it to me.

If you need more information, or data from the S9 I can provide that as well.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks again Emilia - I must've missed one of the steps you gave me.

You're welcome! This appears to be the results of a split study where you were titrated during the second half. In the first half, your total AHI was 21.3 events per hour--almost all were during REM sleep. This puts you into the moderate category of OSA. After being titrated, you fell to only 0.5 event per hour. Great results! Your oxygen levels were not great before titration....you spent 8 minutes below 89% and bottomed out at 78%. However, once using the mask, your oxygen was great with it being 90%+ for 99% of the time.

What pressure were you Rx'd? Are you using software to monitor you nightly results?

I came back to this thread to re-read and get a better grip on what the heck I'm working at.

Think I answered this in a PM, Emilia, but my pressure is set at 7, which seems to be working fine. I'm looking at my results almost every day and AHI is always well below 1, and usually .1 - .3.
The leaks seem inconsistent but I think that's due to me adjusting or taking off the mask while the pressure's still on (from what I read here).

Getting the hang of this, one breath at at time.

Cheers,
xena
