I just did some pressure tests before bed.
At 15cm The mask seals well. There was some farting from around the mouth but a little tightening seemed to get rid of that. All in all I could sleep with it if I needed that pressure and this mask.
At 20 cm the leaks were more noticeable with farting around the mouth. Again no leaks near the eyes.
Able to tighten the straps to get most of the farting to stop and I would be surprised if this wasn't a common problem with all masks at this pressure.
No leaks around the eyes is great with this mask. I had mine on at these higher pressures with no problems on the nose and I usually mark up within 5-6 minutes..

Unlike Kyal I am having trouble with this. I have worn it 3 nights and can not get it both comfortable and leak free. I have to overtighten it to get it leak free. I think the medium headgear is too big for me. I currently have 3 layers of sock under the top headband. Why on earth they did not make that top band adjustable I cant imagine. The bridge of the nose part is very comfortable and soft and I cant see it giving anyone any trouble. The angle of the fixed arms at the top have to make it round your eye sockets and then far enough up to lead the back strap over your ears. It doesnt allow much leeway and if your eyes and/or ears arent set in quite the right position.......
I use auto CPAP max pressure 12 and a side sleeper
It actually seals a bit better when I am lying on my side than when I am on my back
My sleep agency thought it would enable me to use an eye mask but that is not so. You have to wear it under the QuattroFX because of the exhalation port and the shape of the bridge of the nose section prevents an eye mask occluding light in that area. It is actually worse in that respect than the original Quattro
You can however wear glasses without trouble
It also seems very noisy to me once my head is on the pillow. Noisier than the Quattro. I will go back to the Quattro tonight and check. It is not to do with the exhalation port but the "drumming" in the mask which has a different profile to the Quattro and it may involve the transfer of noise to my bones via the fixed arms and the pillow.

Thank you for going to the trouble to try that. That's very encouraging for me.

That's pretty much a big concern for me, just looking at the pictures. If it tried to crawl up into my eyeball, that would be intolerable and there's no apparent way to prevent that.
Mask2fit, thank you for the rest of your comments.
Does anyone know what they mean by the "custom-made sizing tool"?

It looks as though it vents air straight out at your partner.

Possibly that depends upon relative sleeping positions of patient and partner.
It's also possible that the holes themselves are angled, so it may not be entirely possible from the picture to determine which way the wind blows, so to speak.

Dear Friends,
My DME says that the Quatro FX is not available here in the US yet. Does anyone know when it will become available here?

The venting is very good, much like the Quattro. It is very diffused. I am very sensitive to this as I sleep with my face pointing to the foot of the bed and my arms hands tucked under my chin. I hate air blowing on my arms and this is wonderful. It does not blow air onto my partner either. I have my hose hung through an elastic strap over my bed and sometimes the vented air makes a noise against the hose as it does with the Quattro but I havent found this majorly distubing
I have checked again about the overall noise levels of the two masks and the FX does seem noisier than the Quattro.
The angle of the arms is a problem to me as I do seem to have the weirdest head as soon as any mask offers itself. Either my nose doesnt line up or my nostrils mishapen or my ears or too high or too low. My ears certainly are not level with each other and my jaw is more developed on one side (due to persistent thumb sucking!!) Forceps delivery is to blame for the rest. Yet when you look at me I look perfectly normal!! I think. This set of problems didnt cause trouble for me with the Quattro but has with this mask. (I am trying them both out by the way)
The mask is stable on my head and I although I am a side sleeper the pressure of the bed and pillow dont cause it to go wonky. In this respect it is the same as the Quattro. I saidid in my last post that it may not be the right size for me. But the sizing guide was missing from the package I got to try it so I havent yet been able to check. I will post further when I get the sizing sorted. In the meantime I am not using the mask. It was just too difficult to get to sit correctly with a good seal.
The person who asked about the sizing guide. It is a plastic dial calliper type thing that comes in each packet. If you go to the Resmed site and look at the videos for this mask there is one on sizing which shows you. It would be better if they had done a .pdf guide for downloading like thay have for other masks because it means you have to get a mask from a sleep agency to get access to this guide!!
I am in NZ so the mask has got this far.

Do all sizes of cushion fit the same base? Or is it like the Quattro and you have to have the correct size base for the cushion?
The video on Resmed says the sizing guide is in the package ... which doesn't do a lot of good because you have to buy one before you get the sizing guide, unless you get all size cushions in the package and they all fit the same base.
I see they measure the size by the distance from the bridge of the nose to the small of the chin. Which fails to account for different shape faces I would think.
A person could have a short but wide face and being a short face the guide would say they need a small but their mouth would be wider and the small wouldn't fit.
I hope I'm wrong on that. I want to get one when they become available in the US ... love my Quattro but it could be better and perhaps the FX would be better. Only trying will tell.

Has anyone who now has the Quattro fx, used the older style Quattro? How do they compare size wise? If you used a medium for the Quattro, did you still require a medium for the Quattro fx?

I used a regular quattro previously and I am the same size in the fx. Small on both.
The air does seem to shoot straight out but it is fairly diffused so should be ok. I don't have a partner so no one to complain luckily for me.
So far I have slept 6 nights with this mask. It's the only mask i have been able to use continuously without skin breaking down or discomfort. So in that respect it's a winner for me. YMMV.
Now if only i wast stuck on a scout camp without my machine it would be 7 in a row.

I got mine last night. Didn't sleep long with it, not because of problems, but because I'd reached my sleep limit for the night. Nothing on me was sore this morning.

Still going strong Sudsy.
I haven't had a mask this comfortable ever. Have managed 7 nights in a row which is a record for me. So far the only time i haven't slept with it is if I'm not home for the night.
No pain, no skin problems. My only complaint which is the same as the regular quattro is the silicone that the mask is made out of. I'm not big on the smooth shiny finish which becomes slippery after one use and this mask doesn't take well to being wiped clean with wipes. Washing daily is a small price to pay for my sanity though.
