Neversleeps,
No one really realizes how fast I type. It takes me no time to write my usual half-page post. I am a COURT REPORTER. I take down people's words as fast as they say them and then transcribe them into transcripts. This is my profession. I have fast fingers, and my brain has always been as hyper and as fast as my fingers have been trained to become. So it is not like I am spending all my free time helping people, as noble as you want to make me seem. I thank you for that, but it's not true. The thing I think that allows me to be here so often is, my work that I do causes me to be on my computer to do my homework part of the job and I keep my AOL open and running. When I get new mail, I'll stop what I'm doing (the distractible person that I am) and check it. If it's something I want to reply to, I stop what I'm working on and do it and then go back to work. So even if I'm not doing "nothing" or not having spare time and am working, I still will have that opportunity to answer someone's post.
I wish I could say I'm spending all my free time in front of the computer, but it's mostly work time that I'm spending here. And I won't belittle my love for people and how great I always feel when someone will tell me what I wrote has helped them. There is no better feeling on earth as far as I'm concerned as helping others. Lately, though, I seem to be going in spurts and am not ALWAYS on as much as I used to be. But that's good...give others a chance to talk (me and my big mouth). And, yes, quality as opposed to quantity, but I'm not sure I'm falling into the former, rather than the latter. I would like to believe I am, but with this many posts, a lot of them are quick "LOL"s to someone's hilarious post or very short one-liners to respond to someone. It's not all quality...hey, with this many, it couldn't possibly be. But thank, NS.
Den,
Unfortunately don't see enough of the Wulfman!!! Hope you are well and feeling good. Will have to keep an eye out for you more often. Say hello to Mrs. Wulfman for me. Thanks for your kind words.

Can't speak for everybody else, but I certainly don't feel that way!!! Kept looking for a post from you when I had a thread going a couple of days ago. Was really having problems getting the card reader set up (which is now all set with the help of some very helpful and patient folks on this site--could not have done it without them). I am very thankful that we have so many capable and willing helpers on this forum, but having you pop in with some helpful advice or encouraging words is kind of like having a sister show up to help out.
You are welcome on my thread anytime.
Already congratulated you on R&Rs thread, but you can have a double dose--Congrats!!

Woman, I like you, so don't make me whap you upside the head. Wasn't it you that told me when I first got here and we were discussing my avatar that I needed to learn to take a compliment? Well? Hmmm? Take your own advice, darling. I'm a college student - I don't have time for bull---- compliments, so, consequently, I don't give them unless I really mean them.Sleepless on LI wrote:
You are so sweet to say that, even though it's not true.
I'm serious. I LOOK for your name every time I'm looking at replies to my posts. As someone else said, it's like having a big sister around. We wouldn't trade you for the world, so please, PLEASE don't hold back. If you need a break, that's different - and of course you've earned one. But don't hold back for our sakes, because we need all the advice you can give!

Nothing left to say but thank you so much, sis...and sorry I wasn't around to help the other day, but this place is loaded with tons of wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable people. Glad you got your card reader up and running.Born Tired wrote:...but having you pop in with some helpful advice or encouraging words is kind of like having a sister show up to help out.

CG, I guess I'll just say thank you to you, too, and accept the overly sweet compliment. Boy, you REALLY do cut to the chase, don't you? LOL!!!

I never take joy in watching anyone cry, unless they're tears of joy. Now, guilting people, on the other hand, is an art form that I've perfected (JK).Apneaat22 wrote:Not quite grown man, at least I dont think so, so you can take joy in watching me cry if you want :-p but still intended to guilt you a little

Lori,
Well lets see. You no longer suffer the scurge of this dreaded affliction, yet you worry that people won't be as receptive to your comments. You're right. Your posts are now just as relevant as 'Guest's are!!! Yeah right. Now that you heard what you may have thought you would hear, you can move on and drop this silly stuff. (please not the HEAVY SARCASM in this post). You better not stop!!!!!

My goodness! "Work time"? Where do I sign up? What kind of job lets you be on the internet and cpaptalk all this time? I got to get me one of those. I need a job anyway. Any pointers?Sleepless on LI wrote:

Free-lance court reporting, where half your job is done in the court or in attorneys' offices and the rest is done at home, on your computer, transcribing the cases. Allows me to leave my AOL open so I can hear when mail comes in. And, unfortunately, it's not a job you can just "sign up" for (maybe fortunately for reporters)...took a couple of years of training.
