Cpap vision

Do you have cpap vision?

Last summer I flew to San Diego.
It was a fun trip. I carried my trusty S8 Elite "travel machine" with me.
I kept it very close. I watched it very closely as it went through security.
I put it carefully in the overhead storage, directly above me.

I also watched other people in the airport.
I spotted two Respironics and two Resmeds that were traveling.
I looked at the people and I felt kind of specal.
We are part of a very special group of people that have to manage
a very special kind of therapy to maintain our lives.
Like it or not, we are special.

Today, I was working w/a colleague and I saw the signs of strap marks on his face.
I kept looking and was sure that's what it was.
I pondered whether I should say something.
I finally decided that as an educated cpaper, I needed to.
I simply said, "Do you use cpap?"
Caught off guard, I could hear the gears turning.
"How the hell does he know that???".......

After a pause, he said, " .....the marks on my face?"
I smiled. "Yea. How long?"
"2yrs"
"Yea, me too.....2+yrs. How's it going?"
"Ok....but I'm having some problems."

I gave him the link and told him if I could help, let me know.

The opportunity to help others is presented in so many different ways.
"If your therapy is improving your health but you're not doing anything
to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.

Carbonman,

Nice story.

Anyone who gets within 25 feet of me is likely to hear about CPAP sooner or later. Over the past 2 years, I have yet to find anyone who was negative, condescending, or squeemish about it. Everyone has been universally supportive. Nearly everyone that I have spoken with says that they know of someone or has a relative that uses a machine. It is great that so many people are getting diagnosed and into treatment.

My only regret is that I didn't get into this 10 or 15 years ago.

I agree.

I wish I had done this when I was 30. I am 42 now.
I stopped breathing 100 times an hour, eight hours a night. It's amazing I am still here.
So glad I got my machine. I would recomend to anyone.
