Trying CPAP mode on my S9 Autoset

Post by Uncle_Bob » Thu Oct 21, 2010 11:16 am

Hi Papers & Papettes

I thought I would try CPAP mode on my S9 because I'm getting bored and it's time for some monkeying around

I was titrated at 7cm and run APAPs in the range of 6.8cm to 7.8cm. Looking at the chart below I am concerned about the immediate jumps in pressure. I cannot recall ever seeing jumps in pressure like this when using my S8 APAP. Anyone else notice these pressure jumps, either on the S8 or S9? Are they a good thing or bad thing?

So i tried CPAP last night on the S9 with the pressure set at 7.2cm and the EPR cranked up at 3cm.
I went to bed at around 10pm and woke up at 5am all bright eyed and bushy tailed. I felt very rested.

I could be trying this again tonight

I found that my ahi, pressure, etc jumped around when I'd first change back......it'd settle in consistently after a week or two.

Love the S9 because after months of cpap mode comfortably, I'm seeing my ahi edge up.....switched back to apap mode to find a new consistent pressure. After two nights I'm already more comfortable and have seen lower numbers too.

With patience, your numbers will stay consistently low and you can stay on apap or switch back.....

You've taught me so much over the year plus I've been lurking and posting....I greatly appreciate your postings ub

wow, awesome numbers!

and you felt great too, that is awesome..

I love the fact that you can run an auto in cpap or auto..

Find tighter ranges, or straight pressures..

I just love my auto...

Amazing results! I've been thinking about trying cpap mode, myself..... maybe this weekend!
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Looks like a bushy tail is what you get from monkeying around! Congrats, Uncle_Bob.

Those jumps (pressure jumps) are interesting -- and you're getting central apnes with them. Could it be you're suddenly turning onto your back?
