While calist might be burning at the stake, it was no witch hunt. I can understand you being very angry. Having your veracity questioned is quite insulting. But there was no witch hunt in calist's circumstance. He is simply very good at what he does. He got everything he wanted. He's a very good troll because he knew exactly what buttons to push to make this entire community jump. I read a few posts by him out of curiosity, and reading a few was enough. I knew he was good because he made me mad and upset also. If calist is burning at the stake, it is pretty much what he wanted. Some people enjoy negative attention even more than positive attention.

3. You can not tell CPAPtalk that you are affiliated with organizations when in fact you are not. Perhaps calist worked there at one time, perhaps there are other nuances at play but these are between calist and NJH. I've got a letter from National Jewish health saying he's not employed by them. A corporation sends that letter in one and only one case - when they aren't employing the person in question. This false representation has resulted in the ban.
I don't like to see people kicked out, but reason #3 created an obligation to do so.

Thanks, Madalot - I hope so too - I went to bed very tired already and thinking about trying to sleep with that contraption on my face made me crabby so it became a vicious cycle and I slept little.

I long for that time when I welcome the CPAP, but it has only been 6 sleeps and I AM impatient.

I feel for you Xena. I feel so lucky that I was reasonably comfortable on my 4th night when my RT switched me to a FFM, and I've never looked back. I guess my situation is different enough because I had spent months having trouble breathing when laying down. Sleep apnea or not, I couldn't breathe BEFORE I fell asleep. It was awful. Having the air (with the added oxygen) across my nose and mouth makes it so much easier to breathe.

But I have to admit if I'm not really sleepy or I have a lot on my mind, I find that my mind fights the ventilator and I end up having a lot of trouble. I tend to sit and watch TV until I just can't stay awake.

It seems that when I answer many posts they end up falling off the face of the earth so I will add my take on this fiasco. I have been fighting bullies like Calist most of my life with little or no success. The more I react the greater the pressure that is applied just to get a bigger reaction till I lose my composure and say or do things that are just as bad as what the bully did. Who is better at that point? We are all adults here and in an ideal world we would all treat each other with respect and dignity and be courteous even when we do not agree with the others ideas. It all starts innocent enough but in the end the ego wins out and neither party backs down to ideas that are not theirs. Calist and others who post just to get a response win every time someone opposes their point of view, and relish going to the absurd just to get an absurd response. WE WILL NEVER CONVERT THESE PEOPLE AND WILL ONLY GET FUSTRATED AND ANGRY TRYING! I suggest that we let this thread fall off of the 1st page and let it go away hopefully forever, and get on with the business of supporting each other through the trials and tribulations on Cpap therapy. Oh and I heard a disparaging review of doric’s chicken soup and I cannot believe that to be true. Someone as nice as her could never produce anything negative.

Well said, Sleey Taz, thank you. I second the suggestion.

I truly hoped that this thread would just end when Johnny announced and explained why Calist was banned. But, alas, I guess I was just naive. Instead, the thread took on a life of its own, and has probably far exceeded any expectation Calist had when he began this mischief. The "creepy feeling" as DoriC aptly put it, has not gone away, and it's not going to unless this is finally put to rest. That would include no more finger pointing, no more arguing, and no more trying to get the last word. Only then will the healing begin.

Just my two cents

Just think, I could have changed the course of history if I had offered to make him some chicken soup and send it special delivery!

I'm pretty positive...............but I don't think even your soup could cure that lifelong attitude problem. Why waste it when there's all of the rest of us who love you and would welcome it?
