Anyone here deal with Harvard Pilgrim?

Post by ftcorey3 » Fri Oct 15, 2010 2:33 pm

I was just recently diagnosed and completed the second test with titration. I was told my primary care doctor would prescribe the machine next week. I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with having Harvard Pilgrim medical insurance? Also if you start out renting, do they convert to purchase and have you keep the used rental unit or send you a new machine? Do you have a choice in manufacturer or model? I need something portable for work so I've narrowed down which I would pick if given the choice. Just waiting for call from the doc next week. thanks

Call your insurance company and ask. Even people with the same insurance company can be on a different plan and have different coverage. The only way to be certain of YOUR coverage is to ask.

I have a guide on my blog about what you need to ask your insurance company. It is here http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/what-y ... me-part-i/

For a list of questions to ask your insurer, scroll about 1/2 way down to where it says:
Most private insurers work a lot like Medicare, but there can be infinite variations. Therefore, if you are not on Medicare, it’s extremely important that you call YOUR insurer and ask the following questions:
