Swollen Sinuses

Post by JohnnyB61 » Fri Oct 08, 2010 8:31 am

Just purchased Resmed S9, happy in general with machine - it is an APAP machine vs CPAP I had. I have one year's experience with CPAP prior.

Trouble is sinuses are swollen - I have resmed liberty mirage mask which is a a hybrid. I am feeling trouble breathing still at night so is the mask causing swollen sinuses which causes the breathing trouble or is it just sinuses at swelling at night the problem? Should I switch masks? Change humidity level? Wash masks. Already have had two sinus surgeries - suspect masks/cpap is impacting sinuses in negative way.

Any advice appreciated.

I don't think sinuses can swell. What you are experiencing may be tissue edema.

Some people find that it is helpful to turn the humidifer up. Other people find it is helpful to turn the humidifier down.

Some people find nasal irrigation helpful.

Some people use a nasal spray of some sort, either OTC or prescription.
