My friends at the sleep clinic rotations suggested that I switch from my bipap to a s/t machine. Their theory is that while you have a hypoapnea the s/t machine will correct your hypoapnea
I'm a little skeptical in this change but I do not know much about sleep medicine as I should.
What do you advise?
Switching from bipap to s/t machine
Re: Switching from bipap to s/t machine
I don't agree with them as to the reason to switch...
An S/T machine is spontaneous/timed... usually is given when somebody needs to be "reminded" or "forced" to take a breath at a specific interval.
If you've got too many hypopneas... your EPAP pressure may not be correct. Strictly my opinion.
