Dream Weaver CPAP Mask - anyone using it?

Post by Cossette » Tue Oct 05, 2010 11:20 am

I just discovered an all cloth CPAP Mask that only covers the nose. Because it is all cloth I am leary about how good a seal it would make for pressure - have any of you tried this mask or are using it. The nasal pillow mask is causing soreness and small sores to break out on the end of my nostrils. Thanks so much for your feedback.

I wish they made a full-face; I'd try it.
Oh, read the cleaning directions for the Dream Weaver, you will note it's held together with tape.
I kind of thought, since it looks like a pastry bag, that there would be screw thingie on the snout, like in a bakery.

SleepWeaver didn't work for me, but I'm on bilevel, and my pressure can go up to 16 cm.

I gave it to a friend of mine who uses straight 8 cm of pressure, and he says it worked great for him.

Thank you for your replies. Does anyone out there use the DreamWeaver on a daily basis - my pressure goes from 8 to 5. Just wondering what others experiences have been. Thanks again very helpful.

I used it daily until my dog ate it.

My experience was like others. It's super comfortable, but I had to work to get the leaks down. I was making progress on that, though and will probably buy another.

You should note that it's the only mask on cpap.com that you can return for a 100% refund (you're only risking the cost of postage).

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

I used the SleepWeaver for about a week. Very comfortable but couldn't get it to stop leaking. I would get one leak fixed and another one would form. Especially at the cheek bone area of your face. Also found out that I would benefit most with a full face mask.

Thank you all for your input on the DreamWeaver mask - I think I will order one and give it a try - from what I am learning for all of you - it can be a good idea - to rotate masks and have a good back-up.

I have only been on the cloth mask for almost a week. I am having a hard time getting it to seal...3/5 nights I have thought I could have sand blasted my face with less pressure. My cpap has a modem on it to ck for compliance.
My supplier called a day too late..."I saw you didn't do well night before last". My fatigue is out the roof and I turn very wise guy on a dime. So my reply was, "did you see where I threw the thing off into the bed after a 3 hour struggle?" He said but you did ok last night....I said yes, I went by the sleep lab yesterday to see how to help create a seal...he said yes, Sid called and told me....he had seen nothing.
The bad part is I donated my old machine...what was I thinking?!!
And get this...4 years ago echo showed I had pulmonary hypertension and the only treatment was a cpap...
The last one about 2 months ago...no pulmonary hypertension...my dr., I love, said so use of cpap has improved. I was like doc...I haven't worn that in 18 months...lol.
I may be a lot of things but a liar isn't on the list.
Any suggestions for tonights test run of this piece of cloth?
All input is appreciated.

I have no tips as I just can't get the SleepWeaver to seal. Look at the u-tube video some say that helped them.
I love the feel of this mask, but leaks.....wake me up.
I wish you luck it's a nice comfortable mask.

With a few excursions for mask trials I've been using this mask exclusively for the past month and a half or so. I do not have issues with leaks.
As for any suggestions -- don't know that there are any -- it pretty much will either work for you or it won't. Not a lot that can be done in the way of tweaks or adjustments. If it works for you it'll likely become your mask of choice. It is extremely comfortable.

Sleepweaver, not Dreamweaver--Even I used the wrong name 2 years ago.
it's harder to Google that way.
Just curious: how often are most folks needing to replace the élan cushions?
Nice they made it modular, so we don't have to wait 3-6 months.
