I've had my CPAP 7 and a half years, and it has become a very welcome bedtime friend. I currently use a RemStar Pro with C-flex. Had it since day 1. Over 15K hours logged on it. It's been very sturdy, and I've had ZERO problems with it.
But, I had RNY gastric bypass surgery 19 months ago, now. Since then, I've lost 100 pounds, and had the pressure on the old RemStar Pro lowered from 11 to 7 (about a year ago). I've also been using my CPAP less and less.
My sleep center's doctor saw this at my last yearly appointment. I asked for a retest, to which she agreed. Tuesday, I am getting the results of that sleep study. Basically, it will determine (or has determined, I suppose) whether or not I will continue with CPAP therapy (albeit with a new machine, she said), or if I no longer have a need for my friend of over 7 and a half years.
This past Thursday, my DME spoiled the results of the study, by calling me. They were going to set up delivery and install of a NEW machine. So, I guess I still need a machine. But, as the sleep doctor pointed out at my yearly appointment, I will be getting a new one.
I came right out and asked my DME (the dreaded "A") what machine I was prescribed. She told me I am getting a shiny new S9 Elite, with humidifier. Anyone care to share their experiences, hints, tricks, or tips with the S9? Keep in mind, I am definitely no newbie when CPAP is concerned.
Also, from what I've read, I do believe there is an SD card for data. Is it possible to read this SD card in a normal computer? Do I need software for it?? I am going to be spoiled when it comes to tracking my therapy, since the old RemStar Pro had little to no discernable data output.
Thanks!!
FINALLY a new machine!!!

yes it is possible to get the software, and yes it is possible to read the SD card on your computer... if you have a SD card reader. Find a member named "Uncle Bob" and read his signature line or PM him.

I have an S9 Elite and am very pleased with it. I did a lot of research on CPAP machines before my sleep study because I wanted to get a top of the line CPAP. Of those that rank at the top, I decided on the S9. I got the software (via Uncle Bob's instructions) and am able to track and manage my therapy from my laptop.

I love my S9 Elite. Nice little machine with easily accessible, full data.

BOB!!! Hi buddy. You said: "15K hours logged on it." DANG, that's a heckalot hours! WOW....I think I have...well less than 100 so I have a bit to catch up.
So congratulations on the successful weight loss, and on receiving your new equipment. Being the newby I am (as you well know from chats), I don't know about your PAP equipment, but I wish you well...
So, here's a toast to you my friend (raising glass): Here's to you, your new PAP equipment, and many restful nights sleep!

I have just over 1000 hours on my S9 Elite. Probably nothing I can tell you as a veteran that you won't figure out the first day. But talking with family members that use CPAP also, the heated hose option is a must. I cannot compare not having it, but I have never had rainout. Also, your favorite comfort temperature can be reached in minutes of use (or before use with preheat option). Just started viewing data with the ResScan software a couple of days ago, but very informative and helps answers some of the newbie questions I either forget to ask, or cannot get out of the doctor. I just ordered a recording pulse ox to compliment/verify the data results.
Good luck. After some use, it would be great to hear pro/con comparison to your old machine.

I also have to note that everyone that has seen my machine says it is much quieter than theirs and/or others that they have seen.
