A stone is 14 lbs. in the UK.
Re: Sleep apnea
135 kg = 297 lbs. Well, I am no expert, for sure, but when I was younger, I found that walking was the easiest form of exercise when you are seriously overweight. You should be sure you have a pair of good athletic shoes for walking. Take it SLOW at first. Even if you can only walk for 15 minutes at first, that is a start. Add 5 more minutes to your walk each week until you are able to do a couple of miles. If you do this most days of the week, you will see your weight start to go down at about 1 - 2 lbs a week. (.5 - 1 kg). Of course, you need to cut out sweets and try to cut back on most things made with white flour, and increase your intake of vegetables and fruits.
If your community has any nice walking trails, use those. If you have a community recreation center with a track, use that. If you can afford to join a gym, and perhaps a personal trainer, that might be a great motivator.
Best of luck to you!! It one of the hardest things to do, in my opinion. I need to lose about 40 lbs, myself, but I am much, much older than you are, and my metabolism is not as fast as a 21 year old's!!
As I start to get my energy back via cpap, I have set my goal to begin walking again. I used to do 15 miles a week and also work out in a gym 3 times a week before OSA. I purchased Leslie Sansone's DVD's to start with. She is an American walk fitness expert, and she offers wonderful support for those who prefer to walk in their homes. Her website contains great information on diet and walking. http://www.walkathome.com/ I checked her site, and you can order her products, but international orders must be done via fax, email, or mail.

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
Re: Sleep apnea
Emilia, Here's another Leslie Sansone fan! I have about 20 of her DVDs and accessories and have been using them for years. I've been able to keep my weight at or within 10lbs of my ideal weight this way and of course using portion control.
Welcome Shorty, keep us posted, read and ask lots of questions.

Oops. I was trying to zing calist by pointing out an obvious fact he/she didn't seem to understand--that 135 kg. is about 21 stone. Misfired.

4'11'' sounds pretty short when you stop to think it's only 0.0000000009 Astronomical Units.

Re: Sleep apnea
My local running club welcomes walkers. I help with a training program for people who want to walk 1/2 and full marathons. In the last 3 years I have walked 3 half marathons per year. It is a fun challenge and you will meet some very nice people both walkers and runners. Check your local running store.
