New guy here

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Benjamin. I had my initial sleep study approximately 1.5 months ago. Doctor told me that I had around 70-80 apneas per hour. I did my titration sleep study and had not slept that good in 10-15 years. Today, I had my follow-up and then got my machine. So tonight is night one. If the titration was any indication, I should have no problem adjusting. I would like to thank all of you for all of the information that I have read thus far.

Welcome!! A well informed newbie, from the sound of it. Got the Profile filled out, you sound like you have things under control, and you are ready to roll. I am one month into it, and I am reaping the rewards.

I would strongly suggest you get the software for your machine so you can become pro-active in monitoring and tweaking your own therapy. You can PM Uncle_Bob on the forum and ask him for the link.

Welcome to the sweet life of C-Pap I was first tested around 9 years ago I don't think you can beat that feeling when you see what a good nites sleep is like. I just received A new PR One today after putting over 18,000 hours on my old one I've never had a bad nite since going on the hose I sleep 6 to 8 hours with no wake up time.

Congrats on getting diagnosed and getting a machine. I noticed that you are set up with a great machine. In fact, this machine has a lot of data gathering capabilities. After you get settled in and get a few nights of good sleep behind you, you are probably going to want to ask about how to read your data, and how to monitor your AHI & leak numbers. This isn't critical day one, and it isn't something to spend a lot of time on long term, but it can be really important as you get started to make sure that things are set up right and that you are getting good treatment. It is also useful for troubleshooting if you run into any issues over time.

For tonight, the focus is on getting started. I was too chicken to use the machine the first night, and I lasted about 2 hours the 2nd night. I suspect that you are going to get off to a better start than I did.

Best of luck Benjamin from one who's only 8 nights into therapy

First night went pretty decent. About 6.5 hours of sleep. Had a few leaks with the nasal pillows, but thanks to reading some posts on here realized I just needed to change the size. Slept like a rock, and feel pretty good today so far. I am at work, so will see how long that lasts.
