I have two cats, Betty Boop & Belle. When I first got the CPAP, Betty Boop put a few holes in my hose, I too had to resort to duck tape. She has came around though, now she will sleep right beside me and my mask and not bother it. My other cat Belle knew exactly what that CPAP was for, to keep me breathing. Belle used to sleep on my legs (after being dianosed with OSA) I figured out she was trying to keep me from moving my legs while I slept. When I first got my CPAP machine and would remove my mask in my sleep, Belle would get on my chest and wake me up!!! If I am watching TV on the couch and very still, she will put her paws on my chest and sniff my breath, she's making sure I'm still breathing. Sounds strange, but she seems to have appointed herself my guardian.

SleepycdShe was and still is performing a service and therefore Belle is a service cat just like there are service dogs.

I had two girls that way and I still have the one. Her name is Cuddles because that is waht she likes to do, cuddle.

Tom's CPAP decided not to sound or act right, or Tom didn't seem like he was breathing right with his CPAP, Cuddles jumped on the bed and woke Tom up. He threw her off of the bed because he doesn't allow anumals on the bed. I explained to him what she was doing and why. Tom appologized to her, but she has never gotten back on the bed.

You can have her certified as a service cat. This means she can go anywhere you go, stay in any motel you name it.

PM me and I will give you more details.

Cats really don't like CPAP equipment and get quite upset when you attempt to force them to wear a mask.

Funnily enough, I got my machine............Hershey(my cat) started sniffing my mask. So I turned it on.....he freaked at first.........but after the first time he stuck his head in it and kinda likes it i guess

Maybe Hershey has Sleep Apnea.

Don't laugh, cats can get Diabetes, PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease), Leukemia, just about anything we can get our cats can get.
