So far I have been off the mask for two weeks and I feel great, but I want to check to see if I am having any Oxygen desaturation. Do I actually need an oximeter that can download all the info in graph form or is there one that will record and display the lowest number.
I am thinking about having my doctor order an overnight test from one of the local DME people but to be honest I don't trust a damn thing they say so I would rather spend the money and buy one instead of trusting them.
Confused about Oximeter...which one??
Re: Confused about Oximeter...which one??
About the cheapest FDA approved recording oximeter I know of is the ConTec CMS-50D+ (it has to be the D+, not just the D). Last I new there was a great buy on it at thepulseoxstore.com or pulseoxstore.com for $84, software included. I use one and am happy w/it.

Re: Confused about Oximeter...which one??
The problem with having one with only a minimum SPO2 readout is that doesn't tell you anything about how long you may have been at that level. Or whether the reading was because of a sampling error. Perhaps you moved during the night and the position of the oximeter changed for a moment. The advantage to having one with the recording software is that you have a lot more information about the duration of the events. The cumulative time at any given SPO2 level is important to know, and that is best determined by a recording oximeter.

This model from the same manufacturer is allegedly a lot more comfortable, and its not a lot more:

I just ordered one from ebay; still waiting for it. Had I found the link above prior to winning the auction I would have just got it there eBay only saved me like $5.
