How to turn off EPR on ResMed S9

Post by Kleinicus » Tue Sep 28, 2010 6:43 am

Hi everyone. I've been a CPAP user for over 5 years now. Until about a week ago, I had used a Fisher & Paykel CPAP machine. It was very simple and I liked it a lot. The reason I had to switch is that the humidifier stopped working. The only way I could get air pressure to continue to flow was if I turned the humidifier completely off.

So, my doctor prescribed a new one, the sleep center gave it to me, and it's a ResMed S9. For the most part, it's a great machine. However, I find I'm having trouble dealing with the EPR. I had 5 years to get used to constant air pressure, and the EPR is messing up my breathing. I can't quite get it right. I feel like I have to carefully control my breathing, which means I'm concentrating, which means I'm not getting to sleep as soon.

I talked to the sleep center and they gave me instructions on how to turn off the EPR feature. I followed them and found the menu where you can turn it off. But it doesn't work. EPR stays on even when turned off.

Does anyone have some advice on how to get the S9 to do constant pressure?

Thanks!

SK

Kleinicus--

Were you able to fix your problem with the EPR on your ResMed S9? My wife has the same problem and I cannot find an answer for her. Would you please forward to me the reply that you got?

Thank you,

Kleinicus was here 2 years ago and only posted once so I doubt he will see your request.

If you go to this link you will see how to get into the clinical menu and turn EPR off.
