FLI and Variable Breathing

Post by cybergoon » Tue Nov 08, 2005 10:56 am

I am using the REMstar Auto/CFlex, Encore Pro and MyEncore.

I have almost a month of data now. I have searched these forums, FAQ's, etc... and can't seem to find a good explanation for these.

If you look at my data HERE, you will see my FLI doesn't look too bad, but my Fraction of Time in Variable Breathing seems really high. Can someone please give me a good explanation of these?

Also, if there is anything else that jumps out at you on my numbers, let me know. I have reduced my snores to zero. My AHI is under 4 all of the time, many nights under 1.

Keep in mind when looking at my Leak Rate, that my mask (HC431) has a expected leak rate of 43L/min @ 17 and 47L/min @ 19, so being around 50 doesn't seem too bad. I know the mask leaks, but there's not alot I have been able to do about it. It seems to leak the most where my cheeks are, unless I let me cheeks puff out, which seals it better.

Thanks!
