Unit won't shut off

Post by speaker626 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:24 pm

I have a Resmed Auto 2 and it started leaving a small constant stream of air when turned off. I can disconnect the hose from the humidifier and it's pretty strong at that point. Doesn't matter how long it's off; it continues to do this.

Anyone have any ideas for how to fix (w/o needing to return to factory) minus just unplugging it each morning?

Thanks!

ResMed machines are designed to blow air at low volume for a while after therapy is stopped. I forget exactly how long it blows. This is to help dry out the hose.

If you check out your machine an hour after you unmask, you' should find it has stopped.

The S9 has a cool down period when the fan can run for a period. This will cool off the motor. This can run for several minutes and varies with room conditions. Would not worry unless it never turns off.

O.K., I'll plug in, not turn on and wait about 2 hours and advise what happens.

My S9 Elite blows a gentle stream for about an hour after I shut it off in the morning.
While the motor cools down, I can pull the tank out and let it dry the hose, too.

Well, it's been like an hour and I only used it this afternoon for a nap (1.5 hours). Could it somehow have decided to completely dry the hose, etc.?

If yes, should I try taking humidifier off and then hooking up w/o it. Then it should be able to dry w/o adding moisture?

It continues to blow to cool off the humidifier. This avoids condensation and resulting water damage in the main machine.

O.K., it did shut off. Guess I never noticed that before, thank you all.
