Just had a look at the box I bought at Walmart in April. Equate brand, unscented,
alcohol free, hypoallergenic and yes, when I read the ingredients it says
"Aloe Barbadensis leaf Juice". I have been using them since April with no problems.
But I have another hint.....cut them in half...it's cheaper that way and 1/2 a wipe is plenty to clean your mask. I cut them ALL in half as soon as I opened the box.
It's a box containing 88 wipes, when cut 176...that's almost 6 months worth.
Nan
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Things are always cheaper by the dozen! I suspect an individual one will be more. The Sam's deal is online only, I think....and shipping is included in that price.

I personally would not consider aloe to be a good application for a mask cushion, though I have no factual basis for that opinion. I exclusively used orange fragrance Clorox non-bleach disinfecting wipes for about a year on my FFM cushion, and my seal was much better using these, than when I peeled off the silicone seal and washed it daily with mild detergent or soap. They come in a canister of 75 full-sized wipes for about $5 at Target. No fragrance after dried for a few minutes, but I love that orange. DO cut each wipe at 2" or less when you pull them out, and a canister will last for nearly a year! That's all you need to do the job. Compare this to the $16 "special" canister of wipes sold exclusively for cpap masks. I am one of those who was blown away to discover that my seal is even more consistently ideal when not cleaning my mask cushion at all. But when I travel, I still use the wipes...cut them up ahead of time and stick them in a ziplock.

I order mine from cpap.com and they last a long time as I cut off just a small piece enough to wipe the cushion. Once a week I give the mask a good cleaning with Dawn Liquid.

I bought the citrus wipes online. I found I don't need a whole wipe to clean my mask, so I cut the wipes in half.

I'm so glad to see this. These are what I use, and my masks last a long time, I'm definitely going to order them. I do also wash the silicone parts once a week in warm water and Johnson's Baby Wash. Anyone else use baby wash?

I'm sorry to report that I did try the citrus wipes but they made the seal of my activa less sticky. I usually wash it daily with Dr Bronner's soap, stays sticky forever that way (i get a decent amount of condensation build up in the morning and prefer to rinse that out daily). The Comfortgel on the other hand, I wash it maybe once a week and it works better that way- the connection pieces also wear out more quickly on that mask if I disassemble it too frequently.

pir66, I'm glad someone else agrees with me about the aloe. But, I would also be concerned about the disinfecting wipes. I don't know what the ingredients are for "disinfecting", but I would guess they are harsh. I also have a chemical sensitivity and the fumes from the disinfectant might bother me. I also disregarded using Wet Ones because they are all anti-bacterial now and I figured that would be harsh too. I don't really know - just my own thoughts about it. Oh, and does anyone else have any thoughts about the vitamin E being greasy?

CVS Pharmacy has a facial wipe with aloe and Vitamin E but no alcohol....they are very cheap. I just purchased a package of 2 containers for $5.99 with a $2.00 cash back. Walgreens also carries a CPAP wipe on line for about $7.99. The wipes really help by removing the facial oils that accumulate on the silicone.

I wash my fx nose pillows in the sink with "SoftSoap" from Wally World every day and have not had any problems with leaks. I wash the headgear every two weeks. I just believe the nose pillows should be cleaned inside and out daily. Just my 2 cents.
